Motocross is about the racing, the competition and the countries that come together on the start gate. But hosting an event of this magnitude also comes with a responsibility to the place that makes it possible.
For MXoAN 2026 at Gallina Motocross Park, we proudly endorse the FIM Africa Sustainability Charter and the principles of the FIM Africa 2026 Sustainability Code.
At the heart of that commitment is a simple message:
RIDE GREEN
FIM’s RIDE GREEN programme represents the commitment to protecting the environments in which motorcycle sport takes place and building a culture of greater environmental responsibility throughout the sport.
FIM Africa’s Sustainability Code calls on organisers, riders, teams, officials and spectators to recognise the impact motorcycle sport can have and to work together to reduce it.
For MXoAN 2026, that means a shared commitment to:
- Respect and protect the environment around Gallina Motocross Park.
- Prevent pollution, particularly from fuels, oils, chemicals and other hazardous materials.
- Dispose of waste responsibly and use the designated waste facilities provided at the venue.
- Protect our soil and water, including the correct use of environmental mats and designated motorcycle washing areas. – Respect Namibia’s natural vegetation and wildlife.
- Use resources responsibly and avoid unnecessary waste.
- Keep our paddocks, spectator areas and the wider Gallina environment clean, during and after the event.
- Lead by example, because sustainability is a responsibility shared by all of us.
These principles also form part of FIM Africa’s wider 2026 Continental Sustainability Campaign, launched under the theme “Ride Sustainably. Build Resilience. Regenerate Africa.” The campaign focuses on reducing unnecessary consumption and environmental impact, reusing resources, recycling unavoidable waste, building resilience and leaving communities and environments stronger after events.
Ride Green with Ricky
And there’s a new face helping FIM Africa spread that message across the continent.
Ricky the Rhino is the official mascot of the FIM Africa Sustainability Campaign, introduced to help promote awareness and support for sustainability throughout Africa’s motorcycle sport and leisure-riding communities.
At Gallina, Ricky has a simple job: to remind all of us that looking after the place we race is part of the race too.
Whether you’re a rider, mechanic, team member, official, volunteer or spectator, Ride Green with Ricky and help us keep Gallina clean, protect Namibia’s natural environment and leave a legacy worth racing for.
Our Shared Pledge
Gallina is more than the venue for MXoAN 2026. It is part of Namibia’s motocross legacy, and protecting it is something every one of us can contribute to.
Together we race responsibly, protect nature, and leave only tyre tracks, not our footprint.
We ask every rider, team member, official, volunteer and spectator joining us for MXoAN 2026 to stand behind the Sustainability Charter and do their part.
Because when the final gate has dropped, the last bike has left the track and MXoAN 2026 is over, the legacy we leave behind matters too.
RIDE GREEN. RACE RESPONSIBLY. PROTECT WHAT WE RIDE FOR.
